I was at the taping of this show in Toronto and hated it. Although a fan of Celtic Thunder since the beginning, I am taken aback by the group’s departure from who they purport to be: celtic. The show looked like an amateur high school performance. Why in the world do they cover old american hits when they promised a celtic experience with a modern twist? Very disappointing. After 5 concerts, I’m out until they they bring back the excitement of songs like Caledonia, Ireland, Come By the Hills.

You can’t miss this. These lads will take your heart. Whatever they do is fantastic. Saw this show when they were filming, went to Thursday night and Friday night and would have kept going back. From the first time heard them solo and all together just amazing, and they don’t just stand there, love the action. You can see them put their whole heart and soul in their songs. They are very gracious and interact with us(fans). Anyone who has ever heard or seen them will tell you, no matter how many times you listen to them, you will keep going back. Anyone you see will ask, which one is your favorite, and we all have a favorite. My favorite is Ryan, the “Dark Destroyer”, one friend says Damian is her son, Keith is a sweetie, Paul, serious and the class trouble maker, George is solid and adorable.

I saw this show on PBS the other night and I was blown away! While some may not like the more showy tunes, it is highly entertaining and the guys pull it off very well. All of the performances are spectacular and I can’t wait until it comes out! I just love Keith, Damian, Paul, Ryan and George. There is even a new guy who was a guitarist and back-up singer who is performing with them now named Neil. Don’t miss it. It is amazing! Can’t wait to see them in concert again!!

Have already ordered 2 DVD/CD sets and if it doesn’t get here by 2/9/10, I may have to resort to buying them in the stores also. Just saw a snip-it of the new show on the Celtic Thunder website and CAN’T WAIT til the release date. For anyone who isn’t familiar with these talented wonderful men, you will be blown away with each performance. They make music understandable and fun again. I’ve been to 5 of their shows now and was present at the PBS taping in Chicago. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting all of them; I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to meet such genuinely dedicated and fun-loving gentlemen. They work so hard to present such wonderful entertainment and it shows in every performance. Phil Coulter and Sharon Browne have done a magnificient job in bringing these gifted men to us!

I too wondered what all the screaming was about with these guys. I watched this program and didn’t even finish it. It isn’t Celtic or even exellent singing. I’m not sure what the novelty is. They should stick to their origins. This stuff has been covered over and over again.
