This is a follow up story to the book “Divorced, Desperate and Delicious”, but they can be read in any order. Both books are fantastic. If you like a fun and fast story with a a very sexy and hot couple plus a mystery that doesn’t over shadow the fun romance, this is a must read. Quirky characters, great writing, hot steamy moments that sizzle. Yummy book. I love this author and consider her a ‘must buy’ when she publishes a new book.

The kiss was everything but proved to be nothing. Houston Detective Jason Dodd kissed writer Sue Finley leaving her wanting more from him and wasted for anyone else. Thus when he fails to follow up, Sue is heartbroken calling him a jerk for never calling her and plotting murder with poison.

Jason grew up as a foster child so does not trust relationships even if his heart pleads with him to take a chance on Sue. He feels safer to keep his distance. However, when he learns someone is stalking Sue, he can no longer run from his feelings. Still in spite of protecting her Jason keeps his heart hidden even as Sue wants to know why because she can see by his looks he wants her too.

This is an entertaining character driven romantic suspense sequel to DIVORCED, DESPERATE AND DELICIOUS. The stalking subplot serves as a matchmaker of sorts as Sue does not hide her desire from Jason whom obviously wants her too, but flees even when next to her to somewhere inside his mind. Jason makes the tale with his fear that relationships end rapidly and poorly so as a psychological defense mechanism he avoids them as if they are the plague. Fans will enjoy Christie Craig’s charming lighthearted frolic as the author refuses to accept no thanks even if their relationship proves to be a bridge to nowhere.

I spent the first half of this book frustrated with both hero and heroine for NOT TALKING about what needed to be talked about. I’m also really tired of “quirky” family being used as background filler for romance novels. Enough with the crazy parents/grandparents.

Other than that, I liked the main characters and the plot was decent.

Great book! Both Jason and Sue are interesting characters and there is an amazing chemistry between them. I had a difficult time putting the book down and read it quickly.

Plenty of humor…I laughed and smiled a lot during the book. The animals added plenty of laughs…loved the dog!

This is a follow-up to Divorced, Desperate, and Delicious, which I haven’t read yet. I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything, but I still plan to read the first book. Christie Craig has a great writing style and I look forward to more books from her.

If you haven’t ordered this book yet, do so right now. It’s funny, romantic, and just downright wonderful.

The characters have just enough baggage to make them human, but not so much that you don’t want to know them. If you like a wonderful love story, laugh out loud humor, and a plot full of suspense, this is the book for you.
